I’m New Here…

Welcome! We understand that visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating, even confusing experience. Not with us at FCBC! Make sure you drop by our Welcome Center, where you will be greeted by welcome volunteers.

Below are answers to the most common questions our visitors have:

What should I expect when I come?

We are known for being a friendly church, so don’t be surprised by the warm and hearty greeting you may receive. It’s our way of letting you know that we are glad you’re here. We are a smaller church and very much like a family. In our church, you will find a variety of ministries to meet your needs, as well as many opportunities for serving others. You will grow under solid, biblical teaching, and experience genuine Christian care for one another. You will be invited to give glory and honor to our Lord through avenues such as communion and music. We are also a diverse congregation. We find much joy and beauty in the various ages, cultures, and backgrounds of people who come together because of the Lord Jesus Christ.

What are your services like?

We have three meetings on Sunday morning and each is unique! Our Communion time is from 9:00 am – 9:45 am, our Sunday School is from 10:00 am – 10:45 am, and the Main Service (“Family Bible Hour”) starts at 11:15 am.
During the summer (Memorial Day-Labor Day) we take a break from Sunday school and start our communion service at 9:45 am.

On Wednesday evenings, we have concurrent programs for the whole family. We start with a Fellowship Supper at 6:00 pm (you can reserve your plate here), followed by Kid’s Bible Club for the children, More! for middle school and high-school students, and a Prayer Time/Bible Study for the adults. All Wednesday evening programs end at 8:00 pm, but you are welcome to stick around after that!

What should I wear?

Our church family comes in a wide range of clothing style – from suit and tie, to jeans, and everything in between. Please wear what you are comfortable in.  It matters more that you are here with us than what you are wearing!

What ministries do you have for my children?

A nursery is available during all services for our youngest ones. For the children, we offer Sunday School and Children’s Church on Sunday mornings, and Kids’ Bible Club on Wednesday evenings. Sunday School and a variety of youth activites are available for your teenagers as well.

What’s the best way for me to get to know people at First Colony Bible Chapel?

One thing close families love to do is to come together for a meal, and our church family is no exception! We meet each Wednesday night for a Fellowship Supper at 6:00pm. This is a great time to meet people and fellowship together. We would love for you to join us this week! Click here to make your supper reservation. After the meal, there are a variety of activities that reach every age including: Kids’ Bible Club, More! Youth Group, and Prayer/Adult Bible Study.  We also offer a Newcomers Luncheon every 3-4 months so that visitors have an opportunity, in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, to learn more about FCBC and our ministries. It’s also a great time for us to learn more about our guests! The Luncheons are scheduled on an as-needed basis and published in our bulletin weeks in advance so you can plan.

Do you have a Prayer Chain? How can I get involved?

Our Prayer Chain goes out via e-mail. You can sign up here to receive notices. If you have a prayer requests or praise report, please share your prayer request or praise report with us!

How can I keep in touch with the church family?

A Chapel Directory is published quarterly. They are available at the Welcome Table. To be included in the next published chapel directory, click here.

Those name badges are helpful! How can I get one?

Are there opportunities for me to volunteer?

Absolutely! Here, everyone joins in and does a part to make things happen. We would love for you to help out where God has gifted you. Whether you are a smiling face who greets guests and makes them feel at home or the helpful hands who carry out the trash at the end of the meeting, the Sunday School teacher helping students apply God’s truth, or any number of other ways to serve, we need all the parts of the body to work together. Find out by filling out this form.
